The novel provides detailed histories of the secondary characters from the previous novel. A few days after the events of the first novel, Cassie, Ben, and the rest of squad 53 have taken refuge at a hotel, which they call "Walker Hotel" in honor of Evan Walker, who is thought to be dead after destroying Camp Haven. Ringer, believing that their refuge in the hotel will not last, goes out searching for a cave system mentioned on a brochure. Teacup, whom she had grown close to, sneaks up on Ringer who shoots her, having mistaken Teacup for a Silencer.
First I want to say something. Before reading this, I heard many many bad reviews and things about this book, and if. Before reading this, I heard many many bad reviews and things about this book, and if you know me, you would know that The 5th Wave is my favorite dystopian of all time, and to be honest ,after hearing those things I kind of stepped away from this book because I didn't want it to "destroy" the first book as many people have said. Now I have read it, I don't understand all that hate. This is not a bad sequel, this is not bad at all.
