About the Sharpe Books | Bernard CornwellI never thought there would be this many books — I imagined there might be ten or eleven — but then along came Sean Bean and the television programmes and I virtually began a whole new Sharpe series. It was also about that time that the Sharpe Appreciation Society was founded. I am still writing Sharpe books and, as each one is finished, I shall add it to the list on this website. This list is in the historical order of the stories, not in the order in which the books were written — except the first two titles which are the short story books i. All of the books are available, as are videos and DVDs of the fourteen television programmes and the CD of the Sharpe series music listed on the Suggestions for Further Reading page. You can follow the links to either Amazon. Like this one — which lists books that I have found useful in writing the Sharpe series.
Sharpes Trafalgar (Sharpe-Serie 4) hörbuch Bernard Cornwell
Bernard Cornwell's books about the adventures of British soldier Richard Sharpe during the Napoleonic Wars have been enjoyed by millions, mixing — as they do — a combination of action, combat, and historical research. However, readers can have difficulty putting the many volumes into chronological order, especially as the author has written many prequels and sequels.
Sharpe (novel series)
Sharpe is a series of historical fiction stories by Bernard Cornwell centered on the character of Richard Sharpe. Cornwell's series is composed of several novels and short stories, and charts Sharpe's progress in the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars. He begins in Sharpe's Tiger as a private in the 33rd Regiment of Foot who becomes a sergeant by the end of the book; he is an ensign in the 74th Regiment during Sharpe's Trafalgar who is transferred to the newly formed 95th Rifles as a second lieutenant. He is gradually promoted through the ranks, finally becoming a lieutenant colonel in Sharpe's Waterloo. The character of Sharpe is born a guttersnipe in the rookeries of London, and the stories dramatize his struggle for acceptance and respect from his fellow officers and from the men whom he commands. He is commissioned an officer on the battlefield and overcomes class in an army where an officer's rank is often bought.
